Fun in the Sun: Outdoor Entertaining Onboard Horizon’s Luxury Yachts

8 December 2016

Whether you are taking in the view from the flybridge over lunch, sipping cocktails on the aft deck, or lounging on the sunpads, part of enjoying time well-spent on a luxury yacht is entertaining and relaxing outdoors. As the design of a yacht’s exterior area is often a key point for owners who actively utilize or host guests in these spaces, Horizon focuses on providing functional designs that are not only comfortable but also practical for real time use.

We outline below a few of Horizon’s most recent as well as most popular exterior designs on board the FD85 fast displacement motoryacht, E88 motoryacht, V80 cockpit motoryacht, E78 motoryacht, and PC60 power catamaran. As with every Horizon yacht, these exterior spaces can be completely tailored to our client’s various needs and lifestyle demands!

Horizon FD85 – Unique & Spacious Platform for Luxury Entertaining

The Horizon FD85 is unlike any other 85-foot motoryacht in almost every aspect, including her spacious exterior areas. With a 23’3” beam, entertaining is taken to the next level with an enormous aft deck similar to that of 110+ superyacht, with room for either al fresco dining or conversational lounge seating and an aft bar, with room to spare. The foredeck is accessed from the sun deck on the port side as well as the aft deck via the starboard side deck; this provides a practical flow around the yacht in addition to easy access to the double sunpads forward.

Twin staircases to the flybridge from the aft deck simplify access to and from the FD85’s flybridge as well as create a very unique design feature. The open flybridge is available with a hot tub, sunpads, or loose furniture, along with a double-layer bar and L-shape seats under the custom hard top for an incredible platform that creates lasting memories with family and friends.

Horizon E88 – Beach Club Design for Island Living

Usually found on superyachts 110 feet and larger, stern beach clubs are a popular design for the ease they bring to fun-in-the-sun watersports; listening to our client’s feedback, Horizon took this superyacht feature and successfully incorporated it into our highly popular E88 model. The E88’s beach club is completely unique to her design, with a hydraulic transom door that opens at the touch of a button and offers shade during water activities; complimented by a hydraulic Hi/Lo swim platform, the beach club is also perfect for launching watercraft. Since debuting the beach club design, a number of E88 motoryachts with this feature have delivered to owners in both Australia and the U.S.

Forward on the E88’s bow, a newly-designed, U-shaped dinette seating and sunpads forward are ideal spots to soak up the sun, read a good book, or revel in nature. On the aft deck, a large dinette will accommodate up to eight guests, and owners can opt to include a wet bar, full bar and/or Hi/Lo TV depending on their needs.

The E88 open flybridge version is expansive, with a large dinette, full bar with stool seating, bench helm seats, aft BBQ area, ensuring owners will entertain guests with ease. Owners may opt to include EZ2CY panels as well as A/C for those days when the breeze isn’t quite enough. In the E88 skylounge version, the boat deck is roomy enough for a dinette, wet bar, and BBQ area. Ample space for water toy storage is available on both the E88 flybridge and skylounge versions.

Horizon V80 – Versatile Cockpit for Watersports & Activities

For owners who wish to be flexible with watersports, the Horizon V80 cockpit motoryacht offers a large, versatile space to reel in fish (and store them in the baitwell), and the hydraulic swim platform facilitates diving, swimming, snorkeling, and any on or under the water adventure. The platform can also carry a jet ski and when partially submerged, the stainless steel rails, which are removable if desired, creates a unique spa-deck.

The V80’s aft deck provides comfortable dining for eight, while the foredeck sun pads and dinette make it easy to relax during those lazy days at anchor. Up top in the flybridge, the dinette and full bar allot another area for entertaining and leave plenty of room for a tender or sun loungers on the boat deck. In the enclosed skylounge version, the boat deck can also be utilized for toy storage or for a more intimate setting, with a full sit down wet bar and just about the most perfect place to enjoy the sunset with guests.

Horizon E78 – Innovative Hydraulic Hard Top for Increased Family Fun

Innovation paired with family fun is the concept behind the Horizon E78 hydraulic hard top motoryacht. With a lowered height of 20’6”, the E78 will cruise under various fixed-height bridges, offering owners more flexible cruising destinations to visit with friends and family.

The E78’s flybridge grants open-air piloting via a full helm station and helm chair; for the family, riding seats are incorporated on both sides of helm chair. A well-designed L-shaped bar to port and adjacent U-shaped dinette are centrally located on the flybridge and complimented by a BBQ and icemaker hidden in a cabinet aft of the dinette – this arrangement creates a comfortable space for alfresco dining and entertainment. On the boat deck, a davit can be installed for the owner’s choice of tender, or the space can be used for relaxing in the sun.

On the aft deck, the E78 provides a comfortable area to accommodate eight guests, with a mini bar located outside the salon door and a fold-up TV to catch up on your favorite show. Generous side-deck walkarounds lead to the forward bow deck, which houses bench seating and built-in sunpads. When a day of watersports is on the family agenda, the hydraulic swim platform allows the convenience of diving, swimming, fishing, or any other water activity of choice.

Horizon PC60 –  Volume & Comfort for Shallow Water Cruising

Thanks to her 24’6” beam, the Horizon PC60’s exterior areas are at the top of her features list — especially for those owners wishing to cruise her in the Bahamas and beyond. While most 60-foot yachts are limited in their exterior space, the PC60 affords both forward, aft, and flybridge alfresco entertaining areas to enjoy whether at anchor or cruising between beautiful shallow bays.

The PC60’s voluminous aft deck is perfectly suited for dining or serving as a “suit up” area for watersports off the twin hulls; forward, guests can revel in the scenery via sunpads, and a large storage area is perfect for stowing gear: dive tanks, paddleboards, and the like. On the flybridge, take in the panoramic view from a number of seating areas — a bench seat, dinette, and bar seating —and while the captain or owner pilots the PC60 from the main helm, serve guests a much-deserved cocktail from the wet bar.

Horizon’s build capabilities and flexibility, coupled with our vast range of luxury yacht models, ensures our owners can customize their outdoor entertaining areas, as well as the rest of their yacht, to their specific needs.
