2015 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show

2 June 2015

The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show was held on May 21st to 24th on the beautiful Gold Coast.
Thousands of guests from all over Australia and New Zealand were in attendance for the annual event.
Horizon Yacht Australia wowed the crowds with the best on water display at the show.
It was a huge year for HMYA with two Australian debuts including the Horizon PC52 Catamaran and the Horizon V72.
Also on display were the Horizon E56, E70 and E88.

The PC52 was a favorite of the crowds with guests wanting to see the newly released PC60 little sister.
All who toured the PC52 were impressed with the quality of craftsmanship and design of the power cat.
The V72 was also a favorite with show guests with everybody commenting on the wow factor of the new open spacious design.
The V72 was custom designed by new company directors Gary Wahlstedt and Matt Yapp for the Australian market.
The galley has been moved to the aft of the vessel with a hydraulic lifting window that opens up the entire galley to the aft deck making it the perfect vessel for entertaining.
Other changes to model included interior access to the crew quarters, a coffee bar perfectly situated outside the master cabin for those early morning coffees in bed, aft deck flybridge bar area , and the new U shape settee with table and sun pads on the bow of the vessel.
The new V72 was certainly one of the most impressive vessels on show.
A special Horizon VIP night was held during the show where HMYA owners Matt Yapp and Gary Wahlstedt introduced the new General Manager of HMYA Robert Arnold.

Robert joins the team after 20yrs in the Mining and Transport industry.
Rob decided it was time for a sea change (literally) and moved to the Gold Coast to take up his new appointment with HMYA.
After completing his Diesel Fitter apprenticeship, Rob worked in numerous locations and mine sites through out Queensland and Western Australia. After having the opportunity to step into a leadership role Rob has not looked backed. Embracing this new challenge of managing people, working with a large global OEM Rob worked his way through to an Operation Manager position.
No longer working at remote locations, Rob is looking forward to spending quality time with his wife Jane and their three girls Eboni, Amelia and Elayna who can’t wait to be living by the sea!
Rob is looking forward to bringing new ideas and enthusiasm to the marine industry and taking HMYA  to the next level to achieve their  goal of becoming the  number 1 Horizon dealer globally.

The HMYA team would like to welcome Rob onboard and look forward to achieving the goal of being the number 1 Horizon dealer in the world.

With a successful Sanctuary Cove Boat Show completed for another year its time to prepare for the Sydney International Boat Show in which HMYA will be showcasing the Horizon PC52 Catamaran, Horizon V72 and Horizon E84 on July 30th to August 3rd at Darling Harbour.
